In a continuing effort to cut costs, I try to reuse patterns, and if I do have to buy a new one, I try to buy it when it's on sale. You know the old adage, "A Penny Saved IS a Penny Earned." I have 2 blouses cut out that I have been trying to get to for a week!
What patterns do I want? space does not permit....
I just read on another sight to iron your patterns to fusible interfacing to extend the life of them, though that seems a bit pricey to me. If the pattern is for one of the kidlets, I just trace off the size I need onto tissue paper.
Oh Bonnie, I do the same thing with children's patterns -- trace them on tissue paper that is -- (especially the multiple-size ones). You can get five or six years of sizes from one pattern that way.
Thanks so much for mentioning that idea.
Soooooooo....any particular ones YOU are gonna get?!?
Rebecca,
I think I will probably sit this one out. Although, I have been sewing like a fool since school left out, I still have a slew of projects that are either already a work-in-progress,or I already have the fabric & pattern but haven't even started to work on it yet.
It would REALLY be unwise for me to bring another pattern into this house BEFORE I whittle down my present stash of fabric & patterns.
